Dreisler Storkøb

The Danish supermarket chain Dreisler Storkøb has optimised the running of its nine stores with Microsoft Business Solutions-Axapta. The right goods at the right time – and at the right price: that is the very essence of the convenience goods branch where competition for customers is razor sharp and where the players grow bigger by the day.

In this context, Dreisler Storkøb is a minor player, which nevertheless has been able to establish a strong position in the North Jutland market, where the chain has nine stores.

The management of buying and campaigns and the monitoring of sales progress and surveying the market depend on having an efficient IT system. Since 1 April 2002, Dreisler Storkøb has used Microsoft Business Solutions-Axapta, and according to IT Manager Per Albertsen it has helped strengthen the business.

“We can quickly and accurately monitor and alter the management of sales in our stores from the centre. The financial follow-up provided has enabled us to immediately see the consequences of any action we take.”

Axapta optimises operations

“The Axapta system optimises the running of our nine stores, ensuring that we have the goods that customers wish to buy on our shelves. Our campaign module in Axapta manages all the special offer options we need in order to offer customers the right goods at the right times, and, not least, at the right price,” says Per Albertsen.

“Based on sales figures received from the stores, we can monitor each individual product and thus analyse the way in which the market is moving, and this enables us to rapidly reorganise marketing in the individual store. If sales of a particular product start to go awry we can monitor developments and adjust the price or the display in the store, and we can implement day-to-day campaigns. Moreover, if we have a product that sells really well, we can supplement it with other products that complement it, something we could not do before Axapta. In those days, we had to wait a week to view the weekly statistics. Now we can draw on daily figures – including for each individual store – and we do so. It is a powerful tool,” comments Per Albertsen.

Future-oriented

The Axapta solution was supplied by Columbus IT Partner, which has been a regular collaborative partner with regard to ERP since 2001. All system functions are in operation and together with Columbus, Per Albertsen has made some adjustments to Axapta to enable Dreisler Storkøb to obtain maximum benefit from the system far into the future.

“Columbus has competent people both with regard to consultancy and to programming, people who understand the way we think. There are no problems with Axapta and Targit that they cannot solve for us,” says Per Albertsen.
